I expect to attend

I received an M.A. in Actuarial Mathematics in 1974 from the University of Michigan. I worked for CNA Insurance from 1974 to 1989. I married James Uzzell in 1975. I became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in 1983. I worked for Anthem Insurance from 1996 to 2015. We have lived in Evanston, IL since 1985. I learned sign language after our second son David as found to be Deaf. My attitude about disabilities has evolved quite a bit. Using sign language helped me accept my own disabilities more completely. For years I have taught Disability Awareness programs in my community.
I am a member of Vineyard Christian Church of Evanston and the Evanston Sunrise Lions Club. I have been a leader in Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years; I was given the Silver Beaver Award in 2017. I serve on the board of Center for Independent Futures, which promotes full lines for adults living with disability.

I feel very fortunate to have attended Oberlin College. I had many friends through Oberlin Christian Fellowship, the Math Department, and Asia House. Professor George Andrews was instrumental in encouraging me to continue my education at the University of Michigan and become an actuary.
